Trident Academy of Creative Technology (TACT), Bhubaneswar, is a pioneering institution in biotechnology education and is recognised as Odisha’s first biotechnology institution, established in 2002.
Our history
The roots of the Trident Group trace back to 1991, when a group of visionary young professionals engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the future of quality education in India and the need for world-class institutions driven by private initiative. This vision took shape with the establishment of Trident Softech Private Limited (TSPL), initially focusing on advanced software training and gradually expanding into organised education across multiple disciplines.
With this foundation, TACT was established with a commitment to delivering high-quality education in the life sciences. Affiliated to Utkal University and recognised by the Government of Odisha, the institute offers B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. programmes in Biotechnology and allied fields, aiming to develop skilled and globally competent professionals.
The institute today
Over the years, TACT has emerged as a centre of excellence in biotechnology education and research, supported by a team of highly qualified faculty members with national and international exposure. The department actively engages in research and consultancy across advanced domains such as immunology, genomics, environmental biotechnology, plant biotechnology and bioinformatics, with publications in reputed SCI and SCI-E indexed journals.
The institute is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories featuring modern instruments including thermocyclers, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, ELISA readers and cooling centrifuges, enabling hands-on learning and research. Alongside academics, TACT promotes holistic development through seminars, workshops, academic clubs and career-oriented training, including placement support.
